The past weekend was nice and warm. Utah weather is so weird one day it will be warm and sunny then other days it will be cold.I wouldn't be surprise if one morning there is snow on the ground it happened a week ago so it can happen again. I thought it will already be spring by now and that summer is just right around the corner. Oh well.
Darren loved the weekend as much as we did. He finally got to wear some shorts again. He hates any kind of layering sweatshirt, even pants, it is such a work that sometimes lead into a meltdown. He just wants to be on his diapers. What can I say, he is a true Hawaiian boy. Oh did I mention he is also not a big fan of socks and shoes. On Saturday on our way to Sandy to pick up a friend Darren decided to took off his shoes and socks. We stopped by the mall for some diaper change and shake. This boy still wouldn't let us put any socks or shoes on him.So we let him run wild. He was delighted.Barefoot outside of the house. You could just imagine his face. There were some stares from strangers.I think I know exactly what they were thinking. "Who are these people letting their son walk barefoot in the mall?" hah. Ah "sorry we're poor and couldn't afford to buy him some slippers,We are accepting some donations." lol.
This little kid is just like me and his daddy sugar is a big part of our life. With that being said, he got away and shared some shakes with me which he was almost able to down. I did not let him.I know the sugar will make us suffer for the rest of the day with a super hyper child.
Saturday was like home again. We met a lot of Filipinos. We eat, we talked, eat some more and enjoyed the Manny Pacquiao fight. Nate is a big FAN.
That was our weekend. Oh Mother's day was AWESOME!I got some flowers and had been pampered by my boys.
Life is great. BUSY.BUT IT IS ALL GOOD. I am declaring that Crockpot is my new best friend. Who ever discovered it was a GENIUS! I was able to make a meal plan for the month.I tried some new recipes. I have been using my crockpot for every dinner meal.Well, almost. I feel so accomplished.
My little monkey has always been good. But is now getting more addicted to television. He has a preference though only SPROUT specifically Sesame Streets or Sports Center. I tried to set some limits and doing my best to divert his attention to playing or reading. But now that he learned to turn on the Television it has been more challenging. Some days I just give in. I let him watch the TV while he sits on my lap and cuddle with me for the longest time. The cuddle part I LOVE so much! He loves to dance. He loves to read, he loves BALL and would say it a thousand time over when he gets excited. Still loves his blanket and pacifier. He loves me and his Daddy.
Oh and I got to talked to my brother on Sunday. His mission president let him call me for Mother's Day. It was a wonderful moment. I love my brother.I cannot tell you how proud we are for all that he is doing. He is such an example to me and my family. He shared some challenge in the field. But he still never looses faith and focus. He said " The Lord requires us to serve, I need to give my 110% so I can be more deserving of His guidance." He has baptized people from every area that he has been in. He has matured so much. He is the only international missionary in his zone. I know it can be difficult, cultural differences can be somewhat of a challenge. But I know that he is holding strong, and doing just what he needs to do not only to survive but also enjoy his mission.
As of the moment, I am missing home. I want to see my other brother who got home from his mission last week. And it SUMMER in the Philippines.Time to PARTY. I am missing out. My family are planning a trip to Hundred Islands in the next two weeks with my other cousins and Aunties. And my two siblings are going to Cagayan Valley next week. Lots of out of town and lots of hanging out, lots of food and lots of laughter with the family.I wish was there.
My thoughts are probably so random and all over the place. But really, I am just trying to let it out, clear the air in my mind. Sorry for the lengthy post.Overall, I am so very happy and contented. I love my boys to pieces and they love so very much. Nate and I have been blessed with such supportive and loving family. We could never asked for anything more.
GOOD DAY EVERYONE!
